KUCHING: Kuching City Mall Development Sdn Bhd will hold a property exhibition featuring its three-storey shop houses on March 7-8 from 10am to 10pm daily at Wisma Sanyan, Sibu.

The 80 units of shop houses at the commercial centre have received an overwhelming response since its official launching recently.

Bumiputera buyers will enjoy special discounts while special offers will be given to other purchasers within the exhibition.

With a 90-year leasehold, purchasers of the shop houses can choose either those facing the main road or the shopping mall.

Kuching City Mall will bring together shopping, entertainment and other services. It will be a landmark under the Padawan Municipal Council`s jurisdiction.

The immediate beneficiaries will be residents of a populous area.

Local and international businesses will want to establish a foothold in the area as it will be a premium investment.

The mall, located along Jalan Datuk Amar Kalong Ningkan, is the vision of three successful Sarawakian entrepreneurs who aim to enhance the quality of life for residents in Kuching city.

The project involves 103 acres that are surrounded by a matured and established township with more than 300,000 residents.

It includes five acres for a two-storey lifestyle shopping mall flanked by blocks of different types of shops offering customers an unprecedented retail experience.

In subsequent phases, hundreds of modern residential houses will be built to cater to all kinds of tastes and requirements as well as all levels of society.

Three quarters of the ground floor of the shopping plaza will be occupied by a high-performance hyper-market with a staggering array of household provisions and food items for families to shop in comfort.

An open market will provide a chance for customers to shop alfresco, but shaded from the sun and rain.

On the first floor of the plaza, customers will be mesmerised by the offerings of reputable departmental stores as well as elegant specialised and designer stores, restaurants and more.

The three-storey and single-storey lock-up commercial lots in several independent blocks opposite the open market and a landscaped pedestrian walkway in between two rows of wider frontage shops will attract customers with designer wares.
At street level there will be nearly 1,550 car parking spaces and 266 motorcycle bays.

The shopping plaza will also have a basement car park with 350 spaces and a surface car park with 265 bays.

The Kuching City Mall is largely inspired by the highly successful Kota Kinabalu City Mall, which was officially opened last June based on the same concept, values and goals.

The major landmarks located within the area are the Kuching International Airport, Four Points by Sheraton Hotel, Green Heights Richman Hill, BDC, Hui Sing, Timberland Medical Specialist Centre, Seventh Mile Bazaar Township and Batu Kitang Light Industrial Zone.
