KUCHING: Kuching City Mall Development Sdn Bhd is holding its first property exhibition at the `Emex Exhibiton 2008` at Sibu Trade and Exhibition Centre from Dec 4 to today.
The mall is sited in the neighbourhood of Taman Desa Wira, a stone`s throw from MJC and Jalan Stephen Yong and within 10 minutes` drive from the heart of Kuching city. It is a development project which sprawls 103 acres of mixed-development land.
To mark the new township, an earth-breaking ceremony for Kuching City Mall was held last month. It will begin with the construction of 89 units of three-storey contemporary shophouses, which are scheduled for completion in 2011.
The shophouses (53 units under Phase 5 and 36 units under Phase 6) are part of Kuching City Mall Development Sdn Bhd`s mixed commercial and residential project on a 103-acre site along Jalan Datuk Amar Kalong Ningkan.
The whole projects is to be developed over 15 phases including 89 units of three-storey shophouses, 42 single-storey lockup shops (Phase 7), double-storey shopping complexes (Phase 15) with an anchor hypermarket tenant and proposed 659 units of double-storey terraced and double-storey semi-detached residential houses.
When completed, the hypermarket will offer a staggering array of household provisions and goods for families to shop in comfort.
There is also a proposed open air market to occupy a section of the shopping complex with free-flowing natural air and good shade from the sun and rain.
A proposed food court will offer local and international favourites and a pedestrian mall will provide easy movement for visitors.
There will be nearly 1,550 car parking spaces and 266 motorcycle spaces provided at street level, while the shopping plaza will provide a basement car park with 350 spaces and a surface car park with 265 spaces.
It will become a focal point to complement and serve the existing residential areas of Taman Desa Wira and other surrounding areas with an estimated population of 30,000.
The site is already linked by a surfaced road to Taman Desa Wira and Batu Kawah MJC, which is just one and a half kilometres away, with SRK Arang Road immediately adjacent to it.
Prices for the three-storey shophouses (Phase 5) range from RM870,000 to RM1.6 million while the three-storey shophouses (Phase 6) are from RM870,000 to RM980,000.
